DIGITAL TWIN SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT - LOS ANGELES

Sierra Cybernetics is seeking a Digital Twin Subject Matter Expert to work for us supporting our Port of Los Angeles (POLA) Information Technology Division client.



You will support a Digital Twin Discovery Exercise, reviewing existing internal planning materials, validating or revising use cases, and helping shape a realistic, phased implementation approach. Working hours may vary based on the scope and needs as the exercise progresses.

The selected consultant will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and work closely with POLA stakeholders to deliver a discovery engagement focused on:



--- Reviewing existing use cases and technical documentation

--- Evaluating, refining, or expanding use cases to better support Port operations

--- Organizing use cases into logical implementation phases

--- Recommending realistic and cost-conscious technology solutions and toolsets

--- Providing subject matter guidance that balances innovation with implementable outcomes



The SME will provide the following deliverables including but not limited to:

--- Reviewed and validated Digital Twin Use Cases

--- Requirements Document organized into executable phases

--- Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) Cost Estimates for each phase

--- Recommended Technology Stack(s) aligned to each phase and use case

--- Documentation of known constraints or risks related to implementation



Engagement Details

--- The consultant is expected to be on-site at POLA in San Pedro, CA as needed to conduct workshops, interviews, and collaborative sessions.

--- The consultant should maintain open communication and align all activities with Port priorities and stakeholder input



Requirements

--- Demonstrated experience in Digital Twin strategy and/or implementation

--- Prior work with maritime and port authorities is strongly preferred

--- Expertise in smart infrastructure, GIS, IoT, and systems integration

--- Familiarity with platforms such as Esri, IBM Maximo, Azure IoT, and maritime TOS systems are a plus

--- Ability to balance innovation with realistic execution - avoiding cost or resource-prohibitive recommendations
