Guest Safety Concierge

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Manager on Duty, the Guest Safety Concierge will serve as an ambassador ensuring San Manuel Casino guests and staff are following CDC guidelines and other applicable guidance related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), feel safe, identify health and safety issues, ensure guests are properly distanced, ensure existing sanitation protocols are available, assist with the Health Screening process where applicable, and assist with other duties that affect the Health and Safety of team members and guests.

The Guest Safety Concierge will be responsible for conducting visual observations throughout the Casino and maintaining operational health and safety standards set by Casino Operations. The Guest Safety Concierge will promote social distancing best practices amongst guests and team members. They will promote and direct guests to use of sanitizer stations located throughout the Casino and will work with the Facilities team to ensure stations are fully serviceable. Additionally, they will monitor the Casino floor, gaming areas and heart of house areas to ensure proper social distancing and hygienic practices are followed, and work with the Department of Public Safety for escalated situations. They will be responsible for crowd control in lines, as well as inside and out.

Upon request by guests, or when necessary, the Concierge will wipe down surface areas to achieve sanitation requirements necessary to make guests feel safe and comfortable. The Guest Safety Concierge will also monitor the environment and taking note of guests and team members that may be demonstrating virus symptoms and referring them to health screeners for further evaluation. They will be responsible for maintaining the overall guest experience in regards to service within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols, and company policies. San Manuel will provide all relevant training to successful candidates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote social distancing best practices to both team members and guests. Ensure measures are taken to prevent the spread of a contagious disease by maintaining a physical distance between people and reducing the number of times people come into close contact with each other.
  • Work with the Department of Public Safety to ensure guests are following social distancing and face mask and assist in the enforcement of policies.
  • Assist in providing information to guests regarding safety procedures.
  • Responsible for line queueing in high traffic locations, and ensuring social distancing protocols are followed.
  • Responsible for crowd control within procedural guidelines, as well as controlling crowds when casino is at capacity.
  • Responsible for maintaining the overall guests experience in regards to health, safety, needs and concerns. Assigned to a section(s) within established zones, actively moving throughout, servicing the team members and guests and ensuring that the space is not overcrowded and in compliance with safety and health standards.
  • Responding to guests requests with regards to safety protocols, including surface cleaning when EVS is not available.
  • Visibly scan Casino areas for guests and team members who may be exhibiting virus symptoms. Upon determination, direct guest or team member to health screening locations for appropriate re-screening and determination. If a team member, vendor, or guest refuses to be medically re-screened, escalate as per established policies. Contact housekeeping to cleanse area thoroughly after guest or team member is identified.
  • Promote use of sanitizer stations posted throughout the facilities and ensure they are fully serviceable. Ensure sanitizing stations are regularly filled; signage is posted, and cleaned. Rotate throughout the property to ensure high visibility.
  • Wear appropriate equipment at all times while screening or cleaning in accordance with San Manuel guidelines, which may include, but is not limited: gloves, mask, eye protection.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience required.
  • Must successfully pass San Manuel's Health Screening class.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and programs to include MS Office, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Read and understand departmental policies, rules, regulations.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and explain them to others.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Operates a two-way radio to communicate with the communications center.

Demonstrates pride in the entire facility by maintaining a clean, safe work environment for guests and co-workers. Consistently demonstrates personal ownership for cleanliness and maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards within the department, facility and all Tribal owned properties. Consistently demonstrates concern for personal safety and the safety of guests, vendors and other team members by immediately addressing or reporting all unsafe acts and/or conditions.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • First Aid and CPR/AED Certification preferred (San Manuel to provide training to incumbents).
