As an economic development of the San Manuel Band of Mission
Indians ("Tribe") pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, the
San Manuel Casino (SMC) generates revenue used to maintain
governmental operations, provides for the general welfare and
healthcare needs of the Tribe, supplies infrastructure needs such
as roads, and supports the continued economic development of the
The Operational Compliance (OC) section of the Casino Accounting
Department plays and instrumental role in ensuring the
effectiveness of controls put in place to mitigate the risk for
fraud, reduce errors, improve process results, and/or reduce costs.
The Operational Compliance Process Supervisor, at the direction of
the Operational Compliance Manager, is responsible for developing
and overseeing a process for monitoring compliance with internal
controls and other regulatory mandates. The Operational Compliance
Process Supervisor hires, directs, develops, and trains a team of
Specialists to perform rapid assurance reviews and effectively
analyze internal control effectiveness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provides supervisor oversight of OC section including work
performed by team members and related administrative tasks.
Provides guidance and direction to team members performing OC
reviews. Determines work assignments taking into account complexity
of assignment and skill level necessary to perform work.
2. Performs and directs audit and assessment activities for
gaming and non-gaming departments supported by OC Team. Leads
quality process development and improvement initiatives with
respective departments. Plans, measures and analyzes data, monitors
trends and evaluates process and service quality and service

via meetings, collaboration and reports. Makes presentations to
department management, executive management and Tribal Business
4. Reviews draft reports prepared by team members and approves
all final reports for submission to management. Performs review and
evaluation of programs for complex or sensitive cases, as
5. Develops annual Quality Assurance Review Plan after taking
into consideration feedback from Casino Compliance Officer and
other executive management.
6. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient
operation of the department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
enterprise's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include
interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning
reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.
* Bachelor's Degree with an area of study in Accounting,
Business Administration, Computer Science, or Psychology.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be
considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree. * Minimum of 4 years
working in the casino industry with at least 2 years' experience
performing consulting and audit work in gaming and non-gaming areas
required. * Experience in performing audits, reviews, and/or
assessments under Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) or
similar standards preferred. * Experience in the areas of quality
assurance, internal controls, process control, program improvement
and/or regulatory matters relating to the National Indian Gaming
Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards, Bank Secrecy Act,
Anti-Money Laundering, and/or OFAC matters preferred.
* At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission
you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. * A
qualified candidate/employee must have and maintain a valid
driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by
the enterprise's insurance carrier. * Certified Internal Auditor
(CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and/or Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) preferred.
