CT Tech Location: Los Angeles, CA Agency: Ambition 24Hours Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 7 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position CT Technologist (Part-Time, Night Shift) Category: CT Technologist, Cat Scan Employee Type: Regular, Part-Time (0.6 FTE) Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum Experience: 2 Years Preferred Job Objective Under the direction of the section supervisor and radiology leadership, the CT Technologist provides technical expertise and patient care within the CT department. Responsibilities include operating CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, assisting in both invasive and non-invasive procedures, and ensuring the delivery of safe and compassionate healthcare services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate CT scanner, table, gantry, and related diagnostic equipment. Maintain optimal performance and safety of all imaging equipment. Position patients accurately according to exam protocols. Apply appropriate radiation protection for patients and staff. Review orders, patient history, and lab values to ensure procedure accuracy. Administer oral and IV contrast safely, including proper site assessment and injector operation. Assist physicians with procedures as needed. Complete exams and manage imaging workflow using PACS and RIS systems. Utilize image reconstruction and dose-minimization techniques. Manage patient flow efficiently and maintain high-quality imaging standards. Non-Essential Duties Schedule patient appointments and transport patients when needed. Stock supplies and handle inventory. Answer departmental phone calls courteously. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge: CT imaging protocols and cross-sectional anatomy. Diagnostic equipment operation and radiation safety practices. Contrast media administration and recognition of adverse reactions. Skills: Operation of CT scanner, PACS, and RIS systems. Effective communication and teamwork in a clinical environment. Abilities: Assess patient history, labs, and medication for exam appropriateness. Customize technical factors to patient condition. Recognize and report equipment issues. Maintain readiness and functionality of emergency and safety equipment. Core Competencies Accountability Customer Focus Compassion and Integrity Effective Communication Ethics and Teamwork Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent. Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology Program. Minimum 2 years of CT experience preferred. Experience with PACS and RIS required. Required Licensure and Certifications Valid CRT (State of California). RT (ARRT). ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography. Fluoroscopy Certification. BLS Certification. Venipuncture Certification. Conduct and Compliance Expectations Adherence to department policies and attendance standards. Maintenance of professional conduct, patient confidentiality, and safety compliance. Commitment to hospital quality improvement and ethical standards. Effective communication and teamwork under pressure. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Work performed in standard radiology and hospital environments, including exposure to radiation and chemicals. Frequent standing, walking, and occasional bending, lifting, or pushing of equipment and patients. May involve stressful or time-sensitive conditions.
