Job Description Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: Engaged in
variety of electrical test on magnetic parts, subassemblies, final
verification of electrical requirements, and to ensure unit
functions in accordance to drawing electrical specifications or to
determine cause of unit failure. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Review
manufacturing traveler instructions for electrical requirement.
Test single and three phase transformers and inductors in
accordance with test specifications. Ensure that all electrical
measuring equipment such as digital voltmeter, frequency meter,
Inductance Bridge, digital ohmmeter, auto-multiple tester, etc. are
calibrated. Ensure that each part conforms to drawing electrical
requirements. Perform pre-pot electrical verification prior to
encapsulation parts. Perform quality conformance inspection for all
completed parts to verify conformance to specification. Initiate a
non-conformance report each time a part is found non-conformance to
the requirement. Maintain and clean areas around test equipment.
Lead daily testing of transformers and controls. Ensure ongoing
adherence to internal and external standards. Troubleshoot and
diagnose problems. Utilize PC and necessary hand calculations to
prepare files and forms for transformer test and draft Certified
Test Reports. Prepare detailed test plans for scheduled
transformers based on input from the customer specification, test
specification, nameplate, control drawings, standards, equipment
instruction manuals and work instructions. Interface with
engineering as necessary for clarifications or to obtain additional
information. Represent the test department in a professional
manner. Maintain & Repair test equipment as necessary. Ensure
equipment is calibrated and schedule upcoming calibrations. Monitor
condition of test equipment and test fixtures. Recognize
opportunities for improvement and take action. Ensure engineering
changes are acted upon as required and communicate non-conformances
via quality assurance department. Provide work leadership and train
test technicians. Teach equipment setup, connections, principles of
operation, maintenance, and diagnostics. Involvement of
commissioning and testing of mobile substations. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory
responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or
general education degree (GED) six months of related experience or
training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have the basic knowledge of transformer construction, testing
and troubleshooting Must have the basic knowledge how to use
various type of test equipment such digital multi-meter, ohmmeter,
volt meter, wattmeters, megohmmeter, oscillators and power
amplifiers. Must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. Must have the mental and visual ability to read and
interpret documents such as work instructions, schematic diagram,
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
manuals. Must have the knowledge of basic electricity both
alternating and direct current. Must have the mental ability to
perform basic mathematic. Must have the physical ability to move
parts weighing 25 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively, work
effectively in a team environment. Ability to apply common sense
understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or
oral Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment; must
be able to deal with delays, or unexpected events. WORK CONTACTS:
This position is in contact with supervisor, production manager,
and human resources. PHYSICAL EFFORT: This position may
occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to
remain in a stationary position 50%. Position needs to move about
around the test area, and throughout production plant. The person
in this position frequently communicates with Supervisor and
production manager who have inquiries; therefore person must be
able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The
person will require the ability to read materials including safety
policies and procedures. Reasonable accommodation may be made to

functions. SAFETY: Must have the physical ability to perform this
job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or
others. Employees are required to wear Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) such as clothing, gloves, goggles, or other
garments or equipment to protect the employee’s body from injury or
infection. Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports
potentially unsafe conditions of equipment. Ensure compliance with
Magnetika employee health and wellbeing programs. Inspect
equipment, manufacturing area and safety equipment to find and
correct potential hazards. Ensure compliance with environmental and
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
Ensure test equipment are in good condition and safe to use.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works throughout the premises as needed. Work
environment may have noise levels ranging from medium to quiet. The
environment for this position varies from clean, climate controlled
to manufacturing. This job description portrays in general terms
